Yeah, I read it too - they were fairly complimentary, they just felt the performance was a bit under-par, but compared to a car with almost 33% more bhp I guess it's going to seem relatively 'slow'.
The thing that made me laugh though was they said the 0-60mph in the ST was slower than a couple of the others (and slower than the Ford quoted figures) because it doesn't do 60mph in 2nd gear, and you have to change up to 3rd.

Purely in the interests of science I had a go in mine, and it hits 60 at around 6850revs in 2nd

Yeah but remember what you are seeing as 60 on your speedo might actually be a bit less than 60 in reality.

Yea you are right about speedos being out.My Sat Nav in the works van has GPS mph on it which is very accurate, the vans speedo at 80 MPH is reading 76 MPH on the SatNav and the higher the speed the speedo is more out of calibation.

Same as the Road Angel, GPS is the only accurate way of telling.

The manufacturers set the needle on the speedo to read slightly fast so you don't get done for speeding all the time, I think it's 4-6MPH over.
If you run test mode on your cluster there is a digital accurate speedo on there.
May be worth seeing what you can get out of second gear whilst on test mode.
