After the Cornwall & Scotland trip the car wasn't looking its best. When I got home from work it was rather sunny so I took the opportunity and washed the car.

Before cleaning

So first stage was to Snowfoam the car using AB Magifoam and HD lance. Snowfoamed the whole car once. Then re foamed the wheels and front of the car at it was particularly bad. Also covered myself in snowfoam trying to fight the wind!

Then it was time to wash the car using two bucket method with grit guards. Used Gtechniq G-wash as recommended by Russ from MCC.

Wheels cleaned first. Could of done with using iron out but its at my mates!

Then started washing the rest of the car. It then started to get rather grey in the sky, so I did the only thing possible....put a black bag around the extension lead and hope the rain doesn't come.

It was all going well, the grey clouds disappeared and then sun came out. Then this happened.

Started raining! So inside I went and put on a water proof jacket and carried on! My neighbour was looking at me like I was mental.

I was quite surprised when cleaning that I only found this one tar spot. Was removed with ease using Auto Finesse obliTARte.

After all the body, door jams, boot jam. I cleaned the most important part of the car.

Always clean your tip! Nothing worse then a clean car with a dirty pipe nono

After cleaning the exhaust I then rinsed the car ready to be dried to limit the water spots left behind. Cheeky bit of beading

Then once dried I went over the car with G-techniq Quick Detailer to get rid of the remaining water marks. Leaving the car looking mirror like once again snigger

It looks like I have got a mark on the panel, but thats just rubbishing blowing down the road!

Then to remove the remaining water marks and to get rid of the remainder of the bugs on the windscreen I used Auto Finesse Crystal.

As I finished cleaning the last piece of the glass, I was preparing to stand back and admire the fact that the car is once again looking good when this happened.

It well and truly rained cats and dogs upset

Although what I did discover is that a random puddle collects on the rear spoiler. Not sure if this was just the way the car was parked of if it always happens hmm

The front of the car is still covered with dead flies that are being stubborn and won't come off. Need to get some Citrus Power on it and get it shifted but need to get some ordered.

Looks great! Big difference from when you started.

The puddle in the rear spoiler is a common thing, two lads at work have Mk7's and they both get a puddle on the spoiler after it's rained. The design isn't brilliant in the middle section as it doesn't allow water to drain away.

It's a right pain, get some horrible water marks there if I haven't used my car and it dries.

Make sure that spoiler is properly waxed, hopefully the water doesn't settle then

Seriously smart car. My neighbours think i'm crazy. Always cleaning one of my cars every weekend. I changed my numberplate bulbs at 10pm last night. They were at the windows watching... surely not that interesting.

After all that cleaning, you forgot to black the tyres!!! Get it done!

I know yeah. It's normally the last thing that I do but the rain started chucking it down and didn't stop in time before I went out blushing
