Hope Jules can get through this. Absolutely horrible accident - the roll hoop over the cockpit was destroyed when the Marussia went under the JCB. Judging by the mood in the paddock after the race it was a very very serious injury and the worst part is we still don't know much apart from that he's out of surgery. Hopefully it's a Massa type injury (out for the season and back next season) and doesn't have career ending consequences...

He's suffered a Diffuse Axonal Injury. It's where the brain moves inside the skull.
Most head injuries consist of this, and concussion is a minor form of it, however, if it is a severe injury, 90% of patients never regain consciousness and those that do are normally extremely impaired for the rest of their lives.
The biggest hope is that the injury isn't classed as a severe one, but going headfirst into a 12 ton piece of heavy machinery - if it isn't classed as severe then he's a very very very lucky guy indeed.
When Marussia distributed the statement - there were lots of comments regarding it being good news. It isn't - it's absolutely terrible news and reinforces the likelihood that we will never see Jules Bianchi in a Formula 1 car ever again
The things he was able to do in GP2, and with that Marussia (especially Monaco) makes you wonder just how he would have been able to do put into the Ferrari he's been testing in.
