Does lydden hill chew up track tyres or just road tyres?

Probably both Jack, it's a very abrasive surface

Both. You can see how rough and uneven some parts of the track are in my videos, particularly the Devils Elbow and the North Bend.

Is that where Top Gear did the rallycross last episode?

Yeah, Top Gear use it occasionally (RallyX items, bus race, taxi race). I don't think the RallyX affects the surface too much, it's basically the type of asphalt they used to surface it originally, it's just very abrasive.

My tyres are still OK, the front left is pretty worn but still legal - that was after 3 sessions (45 minutes total) on track.

Just watched the videos. It seems a pretty boring track with corner after corner and no space to stretch your legs and really have a good blast. Donington is a good track.

Without driving it its difficult to make a proper assumption. I much prefer the technical aspect of cornering, finding the right lines and when to put the power down rather than four courners and four straights, or god forbid, an oval.

Exactly, a long straight is crap, hence why us bikers don't use motorways......!!

Lydden certainly isn't an F1 track but with decent elevation change, its a little gem

Absolutley take your points on board Nick. I've not drove it to comment from a drivers point of view. From a video point of view it's pretty dull (as a track) full credit to your driving though

Lydden is a great little track, it's not in the same league as the MSV circuits of course, or Mallory Park (another fantastic little circuit), but for a cheap day out it's great fun
