So as I mentioned in the Car photos thread, my car is not currently worthy to go in there.
Had an accident yesterday.
Guy smashed into the back of me on the highway. Traffic was slowing down pretty fast, he was using his phone and didnt notice.
I saw him coming so I swerved out of the way but he still hit the left side of the rear.
I think it would have been worse and more damage if he had hit me full on square on the rear of the car

The exhaust took most of the force and was bent backwards towards the wheel

As the exhaust was now sitting inside the bumper it was super heating the plastic so since it was a fire damage, I had the exhaust straightened. It still needs replacing along with the bumper, but at least now it looks better and no risk or burning the plastic.

Unfortunately the guy who hit me does not have insurance. It was not even his car, but rather a friend's car.
An insurance evaluator comes to the scene of the accident to evaluate the collision and assign blame. With no question the guy who hit me was assigned 100% blame, since he hit me from behind. However since he has no insurance, it became a traffic police matter.
The police are basically forcing him to pay the repair costs in cash. I have to get quotations of the repair costs, which I did yesterday, and a valuation of the car with and without the damage. repair costs are gonna be £3500
getting this police matter sorted and getting the cash make take some more days, and the parts will take 1-2 weeks as not everything is in stock in Saudi.
What makes things worse, Ramadan starts on Thursday, the Muslim religious holy month when they fast during the day. Which means almost nobody works during the day, only some in the evening, which means getting anything done in the next month is gonna be a hassle.

Ouch! Your lucky it was not worse at the end of the day cars can be fixed or replaced. I have heard many horror stories of blame going against non locals including a friend of a friend who lost a case for indicating!!! I guess your lucky the Police are making him pay for it with no insurance.

no such thing here, dont know the concept here
If I wanted a car while mine is in for repairs, i would have to rent one at my own cost

the repairs shouldnt take much more than a day once all the parts are available, just the insurance company hasnt done a bloody thing yet.

this is why I hate Ramadan

im still using it
its only really the cosmetic damage on the bumper.
the exhaust was completely bent but I had it straightened as per my last picture so that it would not burn the plastic as i continue to use it

Raised an official complaint with them today as 3 weeks since I raised the case with them and still nothing has been done.
I told them if the bank wasn't providing the insurance to me free of charge while I'm financing the car, and I had to pay for my own insurance, then I would have left their company once sorted and gone elsewhere.

Clearly not too fussed about getting this sorted quickly... I bet if you was an important local it would have been done within a day... Ramadan bullshit or not.

seems like we are starting to get somewhere with this
yesterday I finally got the letter i need from the insurance to take to the dealer so i can get a quote from them to repair everything.

Only problem is the nearest dealer with a body shop is 100km away.
Will try get that sorted tomorrow

On another note, last week somebody hit me again upset
Car was parked outside a hotel while I was inside in the club.

Came out to find this...

Some bugger had hit me and left without leaving a note or anything.
Since I didnt know who hit me, and the insurance was taking too long on the other claim, I just got this sorted by myself

£400 and a day later and I got my baby back damage free (on the front quarter)

I also had new rear tyres fitted as again I was down to the last 0.5mm or so.
Got these cheap 315 wide tyres fitted but hoping they dont last long as I dont have much grip now and sometimes the car feels scary and unstable to drive

This morning the car has been dropped off to be repaired.
I received a call yesterday that all parts were in and the repair could be done.
Hopefully I will get my car back this time next week, or by the end of next week...

Pleased it finally looks like it's getting sorted for you, but ridiculous that it's taken nearly six months for it all to go through!!

Rob, the rental car is paid out of my own pocket. So I'm just taking something cheap to bridge the gap until the repair is done.
They don't have the idea of a courtesy car over here.

The Chevrolet garage only had a Tahoe available, but no way was I gonna shell out £90 per day on renting a Tahoe

if you own the car and sort out your own insurance then you can have it added to the policy for a fee, but the insurance that is provided when ur financing the car with the bank never includes it and it cant be added.
