So as I mentioned in the Car photos thread, my car is not currently worthy to go in there.
Had an accident yesterday.
Guy smashed into the back of me on the highway. Traffic was slowing down pretty fast, he was using his phone and didnt notice.
I saw him coming so I swerved out of the way but he still hit the left side of the rear.
I think it would have been worse and more damage if he had hit me full on square on the rear of the car

The exhaust took most of the force and was bent backwards towards the wheel

As the exhaust was now sitting inside the bumper it was super heating the plastic so since it was a fire damage, I had the exhaust straightened. It still needs replacing along with the bumper, but at least now it looks better and no risk or burning the plastic.

Unfortunately the guy who hit me does not have insurance. It was not even his car, but rather a friend's car.
An insurance evaluator comes to the scene of the accident to evaluate the collision and assign blame. With no question the guy who hit me was assigned 100% blame, since he hit me from behind. However since he has no insurance, it became a traffic police matter.
The police are basically forcing him to pay the repair costs in cash. I have to get quotations of the repair costs, which I did yesterday, and a valuation of the car with and without the damage. repair costs are gonna be £3500
getting this police matter sorted and getting the cash make take some more days, and the parts will take 1-2 weeks as not everything is in stock in Saudi.
What makes things worse, Ramadan starts on Thursday, the Muslim religious holy month when they fast during the day. Which means almost nobody works during the day, only some in the evening, which means getting anything done in the next month is gonna be a hassle.
