finaly got around to it's yearly clean pretty dirty too which means it's doing it's job, used the recharge kit, had that few years so worth buying, plenty of the red oil spray left think I need a another cleaner though.
Just reoiled after leaving it to dry after its clean, go back on tommorrow.

I suspect the cleaner is similar to ordinary engine degreaser but more concentrated, it seems to be similar in smell and texture, although when it's going into your engine I guess you want to be sure it's not going to cause any damage

I do mine every year and got at least 3 uses from the k+n cleaning kit with just a little bit left over but I'll have to buy a new kit next time. This time I also used a scrubbing brush to get right into the pleats as they were full of junk, as you can see... (this was after a rinse with the cleaner)

yes the cleaner is excellent well worth it, mine just gets black where the feed points direct to it, rest is well protected by the CAIS.

I also go at mine with a scrubbing brush, left mine in warm water last time to soak it so it didn't put up a fight. I'm coming unto my forth recharge now and still half left in both!
