seem to be several pictorials of front heated windscreen, F42 and F43 indicate front heated screen Left and Right ?? why two ?

F26 and F32 seem to be rear heated screen but with different fuse ratings ?

is that rubber peg the fuse remover or just a pen holder ? if not where is it

The heated screens are two circuits over one.

The rear one will have a different rating as it obviously doesn't need as much power to run it.

Heated screen has two fuses, rear screen doesn't take as much power (hence why the front screen is on a timer and the rear screen isn't). Rubber thing is just a pen holder. Fuse removal tool is a paint of needle nose pliers!

Can almost guarantee your heated screen issue is a buffered screen rather than fuses or connections.

Is this just on the Mk6.5 where the rear screen just stays on? On the Mk6 it automtically turns off after 15 minutes.

mine is 2007 facelift so assume that is Mk6.5. My front screen switches off fairly quickly am sure, rear stays on, one of these also switches heated mirrors on as well ?

handbook says both are on a timer and rear heated screen button also switches on heated mirrors.

Yes, late 2005 onwards is Mk6.5. Pre-facelift the front windscreen heater switches off after three minutes also and rear stays on for 15 minutes.

Aah, fair enough. I normally turn my rear screen off when it's clear so never needed to leave it on for 15 minutes. My bad!

15 minutes on a mk6.5 is probably about right. I've forgot too turn mine off a few times after it's cleared and it's still been turned on 10miles later or so

F32 looks like a heated door mirror, same rating as the heated seats

If you took one of the fuses out for the heated windscreen, I assume half of it would turn off since they're labelled as (L) and (R) ??

Yeah, it's in two halves then a small split right down the centre with no heating elements happy

if it's in two halves then would think at least one side would be working, I need a frosty morning then will switch it on for a while.
