My Focus Zetec is currently broken... what should I do with it?

The clutch release bearing is knackered, £180 fix. Windscreen cracked, £75 fix. Needs a service £100... already getting up into the £355 figure and it's only going to get higher.

What should I do? Scrap it or keep it, fix it up and use it as a track car? Obviously not quite as quick as the Clio Sport I had but at least this would actually be able to go on track.

What's the engine size? Not sure about using it as a track car to be honest, unless you're going to spend that £355 and then more to get the suspension, brakes and tyres up to spec. If my eyes aren't deceiving me, your signature strip shows that the focus has lexus lights. I'd add £30 onto the fix-up price and stick standard lamps on it wink

I'd be tempted to try and keep it as a track car, if you can keep it going. Nick, it's had Lexus lights on since 2003. thumbs

It's got a H&R dropped suspension with st170 17" alloys and brand new Goodyear eagle tyres.

I removed the rear lights as soon as I got it home brand new from the dealership. I still have them. The brakes are the same as the st170 as I had the rear axle switched before I picked it up.

It's a 1.8 and obviously not the quickest but I'd keep up with most spec focus around corners at least lol.

Rather than change the clutch, could you swap it for an ST170 engine and box?

It's sitting on the drive feeling rather sorry for itself at current. Still don;t know what to do with it.

i would side with Nick on this one, your gonna have to do more than general repairs to get it up to spec for the track.
i would get rid and get a better base car for the track

Back up to 5 cars again now so one has to go... either the focus or shogun so the Focus is up for the chopper. Just sorting out transferring the plate off and it will then go.
