Im in Copnor. Drive a 2000 black zetec s at the moment. It's been a good car, fun to drive but not exciting. Im hoping to re-capture the spirit and fun of the XR2 of which I have owned many. I didn't get much of a test drive and couldn't open her up so taking abit of a risk alhough everyone on here have said that i won't regret it.......can't wait!!

I have just been rear ended today! 2 weeks before i should be trading the zetec s in, oh the joys of insurance companies. Just hope they don't try putting up my insurance cause some old dear didn't stop behind me. I suppose it could have been worse.....could have been the new ST and then i would have been very depressed.

Oooh no, that's terrible Biff. Hope this does not compromise anything on your ST. As you say though it's better like this than on your brand new car... Good luck in getting everything sorted out with the insurance.

Thats not good at all. I shouldnt affect your ST but you may have to pay extra on the insurance for your new one if you make a claim. Its a hard one to guess, unfortunately youll have to just wait and see the outcome. Best of luck with it all mate.

I wasn't going to claim as this will only hold up the ST now while waiting on insurance to sort it out. £700 in damage. Dealer did manage to close the boot for me......with a BIG! hammer. The other party started the insurance ball rolling unfortunately. Tried telling her not too as she will be paying for it all. she only needs a new bumper. at least i have protected no claims, guess its wait and see when it comes to the ST. I already had a quote......will it change?? mmmm i suspect so.

Nick, where in switzerland you from?

I would think that you should not even need to use the "protect no claims" really since you were rear-ended. I thought it was pretty much always the fault of the person driving behind you and that he/she did not keep their distance.

I'm from a town called Neuchatel which is about 45 mintues from Bern.

My insurance company have said 99.9% of rear end claims go against the person driving behind you although she is trying to blame me now so, I guess i will have to claim for whiplash aswell now!!

Nick are you actually swiss? I know quite a few swiss guys and their English is nowhere near your standard. I worked alot in Lenzburg last year and its started abit of a love affair with Switzerland for me now.

I was born in Switzerland but I'm actually German, although I've never lived in Germany nor do I speak the language. I learned English in an British school in France many years ago and the fact that I now work in an English speaking environment probably helps to keep it up, but thanks for the comment...

Were you in Lenzburg, canton Aargau? Yeah I like Switzerland as a place to live. I've spent most of my life in France but I enjoy being back here now, even though I'm nowhere near the place I used to live in as a child.

Nick please excuse my ignorance but does canton Aargau cover a large area? I was staying in Lenzburg but working in Wohlen if that helps? Have to say I loved Lucerne, a beautiful place.

I wish my german was as good as your English but sadly it's not!

Canton Aargau is relatively large for switzerland and is located about 30 minutes west of Zurich.

Agree about Luzern, it's a beautiful town indeed.

Well your German is probably better than mine if you lived in the german part of Switzerland...

Hi Biff,
