car wouldn't start this morning, all ready to go shopping for my mum and pretty much nowt just a light ticking noise, assume that was the starter trying to engage, thought oh no here we go again, lucklily no engine warning lights. Green Flag came in 20 mins and used a booster and it fired straight up, he tested the battery and said it was good but might not be holding charge. I haven't been to work since march, so daily useage well down, just starting up each day and quick 10 min local blast and odd runs for shopping, either that hasn't been enough or battery on it's way out, battery is 5 and half years old now. Going to book it in first thing and get a new battery anyway.

Battery is a strong possibility, mine went all at once

hope so, taking it in tommorrow morning, it started today fine after yesterdays 20min blast, so took it out again should start in morning then take it to garage.

Any luck with the new battery? I had to get a taxi to Halfords for a new battery when mine went and swapped it in works car park haha

£176 fitted at Ford, all good starts fine, I need to now do more drives in it, bit longer now and then, since I am working at home, really easy to just finish work at home and just move from my chair on the dining table ! to the couch with a brew.
Unlikely I will ever be going back to work even when we can it might be more hybrid/optional but if I can I will choose to work from home, hoping to get spare room properly set up for homeworking but first need to get my attic finished, having it all boarded and painted, looking good so far, just awaiting a rain free day for a veluxe to be fitted, work started in March !! and of course had to end !

Yes, really need an office to work from home, I've had 6 months of working in the bedroom and dining room table and it doesn't make for a great environment. Mine has been stood for far too long again, battery is only 2 years old so I'm confident it will start but probably not good for the rest of the car to stand unused for months. Crazy year

yep not over yet either, if I can find a bit of room in my attic once all the junk is up there, am thinking of treating myself and getting a scalextric set up permanent up there around the peremiter maybe, bring back some memories playing it with my dad and my mates.

yes all gone up however they still do base box kits none digital as well so I would get one of those and maybe some extra track, Lockdown 2 Tier 4 has buggered me up again, I need a carpet for the new attic but no way I letting any workers in house not with upto 1,800 people death rate, just awful so terribly sad.

Had problems with mine, dash was a Christmas tree and no electrics working, luckily notnfar from home at the time. Turned out the alternator had packed up, it was whining too so that gave it away. Swapped it with a scrap one and all good, quite a cramped and fiddly job though on the back of the engine.

I've now been doing once a week motorway blasts, just about 5 miles or so to the first roundabout and back keep that battery fully charged up = essential journey of course............

what about a trickle charger

Definitely needs a regular run this time of year, not just for the battery but get the interior warmed up to prevent damp, also noticed corrosion on some of the engine bay that wasnt there before, must get dried off when the engine is hot. Even the heated windscreen button started sticking from not being used, had to get wd40 on it
