Hey, Thanks everyone for your suggestions and advice. All been really helpful Ive now looked at the fabia and the swift but I'm not that keen on either of them.
I'm gonna test drive a Ibiza FR 1.8 20VT this weekend now then make up my mind whether to try another ST from a different dealership or whether to go for the Ibiza. I shall keep ya'll posted with the outcome and what I decide.

Apparently the new Corsa VXR is turbo charged!!!! 190BHP but not sure what size engine.
Why don't you wait for one of those??
What about a decent 2nd hand Mini Cooper-S? My bro's got one of these, it really is a nice car.

i've already done that with the Fiesta ST. Told them it was a Fiesta zetec as came closer to delivery told them it was a Zetec S then got told it was at the dealer and then thats when i let it slip that it was a ST My dad aint spoke to me for days

But if insuring a clio 172/182 is a problem, then the corsa will be a nightmare! But I do like the VXR range..... get the feeling that Vauxhall don't care about how the car behaves, just how powerfull it is.... I like their attitude, its honest!

My dad got a nasty surprise when he opened my mail whilst I was away, I never told him that I ordered the ST. I swiftly got a phone call from him expressing his displeasure at me ordering a brand new car fresh out of uni, whilst my corsa was still less than 3 years old. Still I managed to calm his nerves before it arrived!

How did you manage to calm his nerves few trips to the pub and that you would pay more board ? Glad its not just me then exactlly the same wanted to know why wanted another new car with my 206 only being 10 months old parents hey they dont understand how we like our fast cars. Think i've calmed his nerves as well as he said yesterday why dont you chase the dealer to see whats going on

The corsa VXR is a 1.6 turbo charged, same as the cooper s and the new 207 GTI. It dosen't come out till next april and I need to find something like nowish. I do like the mini cooper but its just too small inside. I spend alot of weekends away down south so I need a decent boot size which the mini dosent really have. I have also looked at the Polo GTI but it just looks a bit boring. I went to have a look at an Ibiza FR this weekend and I quite like the look of it. Its not as pretty as the ST, it's a bit more grown up. I'm hopefully test driving one at the weekend. Fingers crossed I actually like it or I'm back to square one
