hi guys
made enqiries today about getting over the top stripes fitted at my
local ford dealer (allready got side stripes)only thing is they
quoted £200 or they could do non ford stripes witch (halloween)
are not as wide as ford ones for £100 fitted.what do i do,i want a
good job doing and it to look good but£200 is steep.
i could have a go at doing it myself, but it i make a mess of it
as i may do.

How difficult are these to fit?

Im not looking for OTT stripes, just the side ones.

Ive seen them on ebay, but have heard they can be a nightmare to put on?

Side stripes are easy enough, I got mine from there. Would definately need two peeps to do it though so ya know they are on straight etc

That weird cos I brough mine side stripe from a UK dealer and are the proper one cos they where not selling them in France at the time! But £200 seem to expensive!

agree with babyboom it does seem bit expensive. Found these genuine ford ones on ebay if you have a white or silver st as they are blue but sure if you send him a message he might have some white ones. They say thay are easy to fit i dont fancy doing it though if its anything like window tints that blow around everywhere. My understanding is that this means it costs £150 for top stripes, £75 for side stripes or £200 for the lot, fitted!

Personally I'd go for ford stripes and get a pro to fit them.... the stripes are cool, but badly fitted I think they could look very Nova-esque

My son works in a Ford garage.
2 of the techs there have STs and both fitted aftermarket stripes, as they could get them for half the price, even after Ford discount.

Apparently they were an absolute bugger to fit! Took almost 2 hrs just to do the side stripes!

All I can say, is dont go to Ford thinking you are getting a professional fitting them for you. Like I said, my son works for a Ford dealership ( 3rd yr apprentice) and NONE of the techs there have had any formal training to fit these stripes.

You are much better off going to a sign writer - they do this kind of stuff for a living!

Agree. I use to work at a ford dealer and it took us ages to put them on. I ordered my car without the stripes but wish now that they were on. Salesman said he would sort me a set out at a later date but think i'll take your advice buy them from ford and take them to a sign writer sounds the safest and best option

Fit the stripes and your car will change personality !!! It will stand out like a sore thumb for the thieving element,thats what the police told me after it keeps getting parts robbed off it,i decided to take mine off just to be like other cars

My car was in me car park alongside an 55 Fiat Punto and it was that car that someone tried breaking into, not me ST.

thanks for all the advice,it turns out the cost is £150 for the
stripes from ford and the guy who fits them i think he must work
for himself he charges £50 to fit them, he reckons on about 3 hours
to do it.

p.s. my local ford dealer say they have to contact him to arrange
a date, also he can come my house to fit them, but it must be dry.

when a car stand out from other car I think not many people would want to steal it cos they get recognice quickly
