hi,
my engine sytem fault light(a picture of an engine block)light came on
this morning,more worring was there was no notification on the display
area??,just the fault light. i contacted my dealer as i not sure just
how far you can drive with this light on,the answer was to bring the car in
without driving too fast and leave it with them (a diagnostics issue)arghhh!!
i get so irate sometimes.

Hopefully it will be sorted quickly. It could be that there is a problem (though still hopefully easy to sort out), or... it could simply be the problem that I had a couple of weeks after I got mine, where it came on and it turned out to just be a dodgy wiring connection.

just an update on the engine system fault light,i took it over this
afternoon i even got a coutesy car(fiesta style)a guy who works there
came out to take a look and whilst i unlocked the car the alarm set
off he noticed that the indicators were not flashing whilst the alarm
was going off!!!!. i did,nt know any differant.so anyway i don,nt
know how long it will take to get sorted.i also mentioned about the
lack of a drain hole on each door,they will investigate further on
that one.

i,ll keep you posted with the outcome.

Yeah, I got a KA when ford did some work on the paintwork under warranty. I was'nt impressed with it but at least the brakes were better on the ABS model.

My Mrs says, "Whats wrong with a KA? , at least it's quicker than the Focus Sport!"

I loved my sisters old 1.3 Ka! Wicked fun on the A2

Loved my Ka, but true about the brakes - mine didn't have ABS and the brakes were sh!te, I always said it had bicycle brakes LOL

quick update on whats not happening with my ..... er not a lot
i rang up this afternoon, and they are still working on the problem
oh well i suppose i,ll keep driving the fiesta style for now!!!!!.

The same warning light came on after a couple of weeks of picking my up.
It turned out to be a faulty Alternator, they replaced it and touch wood all has been o.k since.

Will be interesting to hear why yours has come on, keep us posted.

my display reads engine system fault, engine light and abs light on and car in limp home mode, 38 mph! any ideas please.

Back to the dealer mate, sounds a bit more serious that the usual engine faults.
I've heard of ABS lights coming on after rolling road sessions (caused by the front wheels moving at speed but back wheels not moving). But coupled with the engine light is definately a back to the dealer job...that's what the warranty is for.

yeah thanks Gareth took it back today, they hooked it up. showing loads of faults but guy that knows about such problems aint there till tomorrow so will have to wait, just wondered if any one had same prob. did give it a bit of welly today but no rollin road.
