Have they checked the 2nd (after cat) O2 sensor.

guys just picked up my st and yes thats what is was,it had burned out!!!
i also got the radio code given to me.while i was there i asked to speak to the
new car sales manager but he was off today,as i was going to give him a piece of
my mind,so instead i gave the service manager and the sales exec who sold me
the car a piece instead .anyway touch wood it seems ok at the moment.
watch this space.
iceman.

p.s. when i went out to collect my st from the car park i noticed a stain on
the drivers seat(a dirty mucky stain)so back in i went guns blazing
so they apolagized and sent a guy out with some cleaner and a plastic seat cover
he promptly cleaned it up and put the seat cover on,so i said hey pal that cover
should have been on in the first place to witch he replied yep but i gess
some young upstart pulled it out of the service bay mate without the cover on.
aarrrgghh,aarrgghh,arrgghh.

everytime I get my car for my dealer I like to check all around the car to see if there any damage and also check if they done any mileages with it so I put my trip computer to 0 KM, cause I know some dealer not Ford especialy who use customers cars to go home or do shopping with it and even make new customer try the car without the owner no about it!
For the mud stain u got the right reaction I would have done the same! Now ur car is back I hope everything will be back to normal!!

How does it help to reset the trip computer to 0. They can just drive the car around 100 miles and then reset it themselves, you'll never know about it... Only taking a note of the total mileage may actually give you a clue.

Yes, and even then they may say that they found something, and so needed to drive it around a little just to test it (which to be fair could actually be true), and unless you've actually been there when its been done you don't know one way or another.

yes your right but if the computer stay at 0 it mean they haven't move the car. But yes checking the total mileage is a good solution!

Ah I see what you mean babyboom. You're right it can also be an indication that they have done nothing on the car while you were away, or indeed that they drove it and then reset it on purpose to hide the evidence... Very true.
