its as simple as this,is there any one out there who has not been back to
the dealers for a fault, any warranty issue,or even if you have had your
back under warranty just mention either yes or no and what the
problem was and if it was resolved or not, thanks guys.
iceman. p.s. and how many times you have been
back to dealer.

Mine has been back twice, once for the bluetooth which failed but was resolved within about 3 hours and the second was to try and fix the starting/revving issue which wasn't really fixed but i never classed that as a major fault. I know that my next one will be straight into the dealers to have the auto lights flickering issue looked at. never know, they may have a fix over here in germany.

1. AUX in connection only playing on one side - Resolved
2. Broken Clutch slave cylinder - Resolved

Benji - the auto lights issue is apparently fixed by replacing the GEM module.
Same applies for the alarm going off issue people have had. Just make sure the new module is calibrated properly as it also controls powerfold mirrors and a couple of other things.

1. Door Respray (on collection)
2. Interior Passanger Sunviser falling off (on collection)
3. Driver Window Motor Stopped working - Think it froze been fine since
4. Stalling + Bad Engine Note - Resolved with Update
5. Electrics to rear light cluster - Resolved with new connection

Only minor things on my Focus. I still will say it's one of the most reliable cars on the road

All other things have been through use of the car and just ware away parts.

Mine has.

It had the alarm module changed as it kept going off when I opened the car.

It also had to have the CD player replaced cos it ate one of my CD's :-(

It now has many squeaks and rattles and I'm thinking about getting those done I think?

I've been back about say..... roughly 100 times!!!!

20 odd different faults..

1, driveshaft
2, wheel bearing o/s
3, wheel bearing n/s
4, Air bag warning light flashing (repeat repair 4 times then eventually they replaced the air bag
5, brake booster
6 brake booster again
7, Pas steering pipe
8, rattle from o/s window
9, squeak from the back
10 vibrating dash
.... loads more but can't be bothered to type them

I've given up on Ford and their dealerships.... but you never know people might read this and think twice about owning one, I won't be buying another one.

They have not helped me one bit. Tosssers!!

Been twice, although soon to go again......

Not starting up all the time (Apparently a "Characteristic of the car" b**locks)
Squeeking coming from the rear

Neither have been sorted, and there's a few other things need sorting!

I am not paying 11k for a car that has faults......

Nope.

But I will mention that my car has the PAS pipe noise, though it does not bother me and I've just learned to live with it.

Ha ha Characteristic of a broken car is what I said to them about the faults on my car.

They like using that excuse.... doesn't say much for Ford really... FORD:"there sh1t and we know they are... deal with it".

guys,
well a few,yes a few lucky people so far with their reliable!!! but
not many.i asked today about just how many times you need to go back
with your car for faults before they consider a replacement car, answer they
don,t know .i agree i am not spending £11400 on a brand new car 4 it
to spend most of time at the dealers .

At the end of the day the will start 99.9% of the times just maybe sometimes it won't first time.

It's not broken it's just how have engineered it.

I would prefer my car to not start first time every not and again and never let me down whilst running then always braking down because of things.

I agree it should start 1st time but you will simply not get this resolved, only solution is go buy a BMW or Mercedes.

Ur right Iceman, Told my dealer whats the point of buying a car if it spend of its in the garage and therefore not enjoy the car! they agree with me but can't find any solution! as for Mercedes or BMW is far from better reabilty on those car are not great far from it and those people spend even much more money than us!! When u see the very expensive SLR Mclaren for example which can cause fire on its own on few of those car! and the same go for Mercedes and many other expensive brand! Today money doesn't buy quality!! keep that in mind!

babyboom,
i tend to agree with you there,a vast differance in price, when it
comes to your vw,merc, bmw, audi.but the thing is i have owned several
brand new fords in the past, and they have all been reliable, not let
me down,iam talking F reg xr2,G reg xr2, H reg xr2, J reg xr2,K reg
xr2,all these cars brand new and stayed away from dealeships except
for servicing,so why the hell have i now in 2006 got a brand new
2 month old thats spent so far over 2 weeks of its life in the bloody
dealers. getting problems resolved alledgedly.

Yes it's been back to the dealer but its never been major.

1. Starting Problem - never got resolved but starts ok now
2. Car decides to rev itself - dealer fixed it to some extent but not fully
3. Door arm screw keeps coming loose - dealer fixed it
4. Door was rusting - dealer fixed under warrenty
5. Paintwork was discoloured - delear reprayed area but took two attempts.

I have always been given a courtesy car and the staff are fairly helpful but they keep me waiting alot.

1) Alarm kept going of went back twice with this third time new GEM module fitted
2)Only half the heated windsreen worked, new windscreen fitted took 2 days only to get car back to find big screwdriver scratch in windscreen trim and wiper arms chipped(looked like they threw them across the workshop)Refused to take the car until they repaired it, they had to take parts of a new car.Not a very happy ST owner!!!!!!

We should count to see how many people are happy with they're ST and who is not! Maybe more unhappy than happy owner!

Just to add my little bit... like Kevin above, I don't think its the case that everyone whos had a problem is unhappy with their ST. I had the minor problem I mentionned earlier in the thread, the dealer sorted it no problem and I've been very happy with it since.

Perhaps I have been lucky with my dealer, the only other thing I've had was with the squeaky clutch early on, I mentionned it to them when it when it for the 3 month service, and again it was sorted without any problems and has never came back.

1) New rubbing strip after old ones started peeling away - resolved under warranty
2) Software update - there isnt one for my car
3) Air blowers stopped working - ICE company hadnt reattached the pipe properly after installing my headunit. Dealership did it after much grumbling about it being non warranty!
4) Engine management light is on after aftermarket exhaust - not yet resolved. Tried a MIL eliminator but it didnt go off after 400+ miles, tried a new front sensor & it came back on after 1 mile, waiting to get another sensor fitted (last resort!)

Bought mine second hand from a main dealer. One of the rear seat back catches was found to be broken as the salesman showed me round at collection time. The fault was fixed for collection next day.

I did have a slight starting problem but I think it was due to not keeping the key in the start position till I was sure the engine had started. It would tick over jerkily for a while before running properly; possibly the sensor got flooded. Now I wait till the lights go out and keep the key in start until the engine kicks in.

Still, I've only done about 1100 miles so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Yes went in for a new power stearing resiviour when 2 weeks old, and when collecting it had to go back as the bluetooth had stopped

Needs booking in for the GEM unit as the alarm keeps going off, the auto lights flicker and the bluetooth has stopped working again.
