Ok, my ST has been in the garage on 2 occasions now and it's still not been sorted It doesn't start up all the time, it ticks over but doesn't fire up. Also there's a really bad squeek coming from what sounds like the rear Last time it was suppose to have had all the suspension greased to stop it, stopped for a day and now it's squeeking again. Also the clutch makes a noise and it's not just a case of putting some WD40 on it, as already done this! There's also some really strange marks on the inside of the window. These aren't the lines to heat it, they're weird, and I've tried cleaning it with alsorts!! Going to call Ford tomorrow and tell them, yet again it's not sorted! Why can't they simply sort it first time round......oh yeah because they're useless

Wasn't sure if I could take it to another dealer to be honest. But I think that I'm going to have to try. There's another one closer to me anyway! I'll have a look at the seat belts and see if that's the issue. The marks on the window are weird, there's loads of lines, which you can only really see if certain lights. I've tried cleaning it loads but it just won't go. They're not sucker marks! Thanks for repsonding

Is the squeak like rubber on rubber? I had a loud squeak from the o/s/r and the dealership refitted the lamp assembly and lube the shock absorber.

Yeah the windowscreen has like greasy likes all over it but I can't get rid of them! Oh and babyboom I've always got a squeeky noise coming from the dashboard, but that's the least of my worries!! I'll be calling them tomorrow and if something's not sorted the s**t will be hitting the fan big time

I used to have the starting problem but it seems to have gone away after putting some milage on the car or an ECU update helped. Perhaps the starter motor/fuel pump needs bedding in.
Yeah something seriously needs sorting. Can't afford to be spending all the money on a car for it not to work properly!!

Kath, The clutch just needs a good grease, i've had the same problem. I have 2 circles on both front windows and i clean them, they go away and then come back again... no way of getting rid of them... just accepted them The none starting is a common problem, just stop, wait 5 secs and it will power up. won't do anything about this. Deff get the suspension done!!!

Yup, I had the same problem early on, asked for it to be sorted at the 3 month service, they greased it properly, and I've never had the problem since.

Yes, just turn the key to II, wait until the lights go out on the dashboard and it should definitely start then.

I totally agree....I always wait for the lights to go out before starting and havent had any problems. Apparently, Fords have an issue whereby the immobilser doesnt disengage quick enough. If you wait for the lights to go out, it gives the car time to sort its life out!
Iceman, Hope you get sorted but dont look to Ford to solve your problems with any compassion. I bought a brand new 2.0TDCi Ghia Focus last year - It broke down within hours and went on to breakdown a further 12 tiomes in the first year. Ford couldnt sort it and to be honest, didnt give a toss. I traded it in for the ST. If this one gives me grief, it will be the last Ford I EVER own. So far the cars been great, 1200miles in and running well.............please dont tell me Ive spoken too soon!
Andy

Yehhhh I get them too... Its just where the window goes up & down and gets marked (not scratched!). The condensation just picks them up

What do you mean the window goes up and down... its the windscreen not the door windows. Its almost looks like glue because you can feel the marks when you rub your fingers over them, very weird, will take a pic next time it happens
