If you look close. The back wheel caught the fence. The pilot tried to pull up for another attempt but because the wheel was caught it was twisted into the sea...

They are bloody big aswell!!!

Are the good old CH-46 Sea Knight crash. Seen that many times before. Amazingly they all survived to tell the tale which is amazing considering what happened. I believe the official lie on the crash was that when the piloy tried to pull up something or other went wrong with the rear rotor and more power was being produced on the front causing it to not pull up like it should. Something along those lines anyway.

(Edit - I'm not saying what you said is bollocks Stu LOL)

Thats a load of bollocks... but i tell you what, that fence was some serious quality to pull such a powerful helicopter like that down!!!

The Chinook's are built to pick up very heavy loads.

Suprisingly those helipads aren't that big and those pilots have to get it spot on... shows you when they don't what can happen!

Which part is a load of Bollocks? The Chinook is actually a totally different helicopter to the Sea Knight. Its bigger, can carry more troops and a heavier war load. The Sea Knights are due to be replaced over the next few years which is about time too as they dont exactly have the greatest safety record these days.
