Forget the performance for a while.
You get what you pay for.
If you
fill your tank up with the more expensive Ultimate etc, it will cost about £1.50 to £2, or there abouts, more than the cheapo stuff.
For that
tankfull, at an extra £1.50 - £2, the lubricants etc will help clear those jets, piston bores and all sorts of things, because the additives are in it to do this.
Whereas the cheap s**t at a saving of a couple of quid
per tank full, will have no performance difference in the short term, but in the long term it will, because there are no sort of lubricants in it to protect your engine.
So to summarise.
You pull in to get petrol,
You've only got a fiver on you,
You put in the cheap s**t because you think your getting more fuel for your Fiver.Agreed, you will.
But, you will not get more miles out of it because your engine is slowly but surely deteriorating.
Thats my answer anyway.
As you can see, i can write an essay on this.(and will add the theoretical points if you want) You will not go like a rocket putting the more expensive fuel in, but you will protect your engine more.
