O and by the way i thought that if there is only 10 pitches on that camp site that'll be pretty much all of us plus ppl who will already have booked it, just an idea to look for a second site? with a massive field no restrictions?

It's actually 20 pitches not 10, so I'd hope it should be OK, but I do think we need to look at getting it booked ASAP. One problem I have found through searching for camp sites is there are many different terms and conditions... Like... No groups, over 25's only, families only, no cars next to tents (thats a big no no for me), £20 damages deposit, minimum 7 day booking, etc. Thats why I picked that particular site, even though it is quite small.

I think I'm right in saying that the following so far may be camping:
ChrisCumbria - Chris
ST_ONE - Kevin
Tonym - Tony
stuart84 - Stuart
FiestaRS - Scotty
pixar - Becky
STifler - Matt
Micky - Micky

I've filled in the form on their website now, and said that there may be seven other pitches required in addition to myself. I'll let you know as soon as I get a response; if they do say yes they've enough space then I suggest we book ASAP so that we get them.

Right...

They've just phoned me up now, and its good and bad news. The good news is that they are free that weekend and we would all get on. The bad news is that because it's a bank holiday weekend there is a premium to pay and it would be £15 per night as opposed to the normal £8 although there would be no extra to pay for electric hookup - also with it being a holiday weekend we would have to book for 3 nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) so would have to pay £45 per pitch.

Can everyone give me their views on this ASAP, so I know whether to go for it, or to look for another site.

Thanks
Chris

I know I have a lot of electronic gadgets in my car, but hooking it up seems a bit much!! Though this might be an idea for Micky since he's always flattenning his battery

Seriously though £15 a night is expensive Chris and you know what were like... we use the campsite as a meeting point so needs to be able to accomidate 10+? cars parked around...

Try and find another site there must be loads, Yorkshire has many fields

TBH when they said that I did think that it was a bit hefty, but thought it best to ask first. It is a shame since I'd spent ages looking about and in some ways that did seem ideal. Oh well, back to the drawing board now, and hopefully I'll find somewhere else.

Take it easy Chris, better to search for longer and find the best place than to rush, book up and miss the better location.

Can any of our friends in that area help us out here .

I'm happy to pitch up on anyones front garden for the wife & daughter to sleep....while i have the spare room in the house to keep a sleepy eye on them with Big Ted .

On a serious note. I think we will get somewhere sorted in the New Year when everyone has got over the Christmas rush .

Yes im sure we will find somewhere else with not to much of a problem but I think £15 a night is a bit steep when most b&bs are that price!!!
Some hotels you can pay for a room and sleep so many in there maybe that might be good idea for those who dont fancy camping. Its was a nice site tho chris I do agree! Will have a look to try and help tommorow! Happy New Year everyone!!
