Right washing my car today and probably as many of you do if you come across somthing the sponge wont budge you get your nail to it. Well as i noticed on the ENTIRE of the cars bodywork there seems to be what can only be described as pinprick holes of rust I've never noticed this before if anyone can shed any light on this problem it would be very much appreciated. I've tried taking a picture on my camera but it doesnt show up. Tony

I remember people saying they had rust dots on their cars & seem to dealerships using the phrase "industrial fall out". Sounds a bit dramatic but possibly what babyboom meant?
Have you tried a clay bar Tony? (no Electric Six jokes please). You can get them from Halfords with a bottle of Meguiars Quik Detailer. They lift any bit of dirt you have on your car, even when you think its clean! Just be sure to use plenty of Quik Detailer, never ever clay a bit of dry paint and have a soft, plush towel to wipe off and always give the car a wax afterwards maybe as a layer of protection from whatever this is.

As Pinky has already said, this sounds like industrial fall out.
Quite well known to Ford it affects cars more in a solid colour, cars brought into the country & left at dagenham in the compound sometimes suffer from this as there is a railway line which runs accross the back thus seding metallic particles into the air which adhere to the cars paintwork.
Ford have a fix for this which is a kind of an acid wash, not sure i'd want my new motor to have one of those though!!!.
