I agree. I had my first ST at 19 with 2 years no claims and it cost me about £1100 (converted from 1550 euros as I live in germany). I am now 20 with 3 years no claims and the cost has fallen to 1411 euros a year. I have no idea what sort of difference there would be between english and german insurance groups but hopefully that gives u some idea. When i was 18 i had a sportka which cost be 1850 euros to insure and my first car at 17 was a ka and that cost me 2300 euros (£1550) for the year. So you can see the difference as the no claims begins to build. I think that £940 for my ST now (at 20 years old) isnt to bad a figure.

i know some insurance companys if you limit the annual mileage then i think there is a saving, and as i say lift your excess up,also non drinkers and non smokers save a little,i found adding the wife to my policy reduced the premium a little.

I think those prices in Euro's are quite good actually compared to UK! I know some people who were paying £2000 on insurance on their first car!

As for excess I believe you have to pay a young driver excess of about £300 if you are under 21. In addition to any other voluntary excess.

Just had a quick search and if its 25 years old I presume it must have been a Renault 18 (so close there!) - the Laguna replaced the Renault 21, which in turn had replaced the Renault 18.

Well... it took a bit of time to get me perfect, but I was in development... suprised they didn't can me like the Fiesta

Too expensive during development and losing money once in production

See, I don't think they planned me at all, certainly not perfect. I must have been one of those friday afternoon ones, done quickly and in a rush!!
