No you can't unfortunately, its not legal to have a private plate with a more recent reg on it, as it would be considered trying to make the car look newer than it is.

I didn't know that! first I learn about it! I always though u were able to do anything on ur number plate!

05 plate came out before 55... so you can have an 05 plate on a 55 car. Thats fine!

ok babyboom, u seem to have sussed it. The plate cost me 500.00 in march 05 and I am prepared to sell it for 275.00. This price doesn't include the 80.00 to register it to your car but I may give you a little help depending on the response
