Filled her up at the weekend, about £34 or so just to see how many miles I would get out of a full tank.

Has anyone else ran a full tank yet to see how many miles you are getting?

Just wondering as I seem to be on target for about 240 miles, it may be my club foot on the accelerator or just how it is!

Any thoughts?

That would be around 24 - 26 mpg depending how much fuel £34 buys you where you live. Sounds about right to be honest. It should improve a bit once run in.

It was 77.9 where I filled her up but I havent checked how much the tank holds.

I do a 50 mile round trip to work each day so just trying to gauge how much more a month in petrol I am going to spend compared to my old Xsara diesel.

Felt as Diesel is much more expensive than petrol and as the ST is 5 years newer, the difference wouldnt be that bad, however I forgot to take into consideration the Fruit Pastille factor!!

You cant put a Fruit Pastille in yor mouth without chewing and you cant sit in an ST without driving it fast.

There is no way I could tootle along the toll road at 70, it just would'nt do her justice!

It has a lot to do with driving style. I average around 19mpg in my RS but I know I can achieve 25 - 28 mpg if I really try.

I wouldn't even bother to check the fuel consumption for the first 5 odd tanks. It will always be a bit worrying as the engine needs to free up.

Thing is fuel economy is such a personal thing.

It depends entirely on the roads that you drive on, how much traffic there is, how you drive them and how much of a heavy braker you are.

Just to make you all sick, I am averaging 46.5mpg in my Mondeo on the current tank. The tank has so far done 490miles and still has an alleged radius of 50miles. This is after a lot of town driving, and over 4 hours on the motorway with the cruise control set at 90.

I have to agree when I first picked up my ST170 I was shocked that it returned just over 220 miles, but now I regularly get 300+

Yup i was getting 24mpg in my focus for the first month or so but then it upped by a bit lol...

I now get 280-320 to a tank... lol!!!
