How would you rate it??.....

Is it better than the ones in the MK5 (zs)? I know I can just go to my local dealer and check but they don`t like me as I`ve ordered my ST somewhere else...

question to add to this. If I dump the Ford audio and install an mp3/DAB radio, can I still use the controls on the steeringwheel? Or is this ford only?

Just out of interest what model would you buy that does DAB and mp3? I could only find a few systems with those features.

Haven't checked those out at all yet.. just know CD sucks caus it's only an hour worth of music so mp3 is a must. And while I'm at it I'll probably get DAB too since it's better quality radio.

think there simply aren't many DAB/MP3 radio's about but the woodstock DAB54 from blaupunkt should be nice.
For the Dutch peeps: http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_topics/9 is probably the best info on this stuff.

I rate the 6006 system highly in my ST; it's definately better than the 4000 (i think that was what it was...) in my previous MK6 Zetec.
Dont really agree about the 'only 1 hour of music bit' as it's a 6 disc changer, so better make that over 7hours.......

true about the 6 disc changer but that doesn't come as standard and even the optional one.. well.. i'll buy myself a FM/DAB/MP3 unit for that price with over 10 hours of music on CD-RW media and DAB quality radio for when i get tired of non-stop music :P

You guys are lucky... in SA, if they find a written disk in your car you get fined R1000. (That's 'bout 130 Euros)

Don't know how they're going to enforce it now that you can buy MP3's online though but that's ZA for you

That is the most ridiculous thing iv ever heard of, I can just see it now. "check tires sir, ok good, Check license registration, ok good, check insurance, ok good. Now sir, can I check the 300 cds in your car please, right im fineing you for copywrite theft........"

On the Dab/mp3 side i was looking at the Blaupunkt Woodstock 53, its got an MMC slot so no need for actually burning the cds Bit expensive tho.

Can any one tell me about the sound quality from the audio system? As music is a great love of mine I spend all my time listening to music whilst driving. Is it worth upgrading them the system totally? New speakers? new head unit? I upgraded the system in my current fiesta and the difference was amazing!! What would you guys recommend?

Like anything it's a matter of opinion and what you are used to. I am very pleased with the sound quality of the sysem in my ST and have no plans to change it.
