Evening all, just registered as I'm looking into getting myself an ST.

At the moment I have a 306 XSI as my daily runabout and an E30 M3 for weekend fun, going to keep the M3 but hoping to make day-to-day driving a bit more enjoyable by chopping the 306 in for an ST.

Cheers

The M3 is a Diamand Schwarz one- it's one of the first few hundred produced so way back from 1986. The box-arched DTM racer one for those who don't know it.

I actually first drove an ST when 5th Gear did their timed lap at Anglesey as my M3 was tested the same day.

I'm looking at going new and at the moment I am leaning towards a white one with Reflex and Technology packs and tints. Not generally a fan of white cars but I think it suits the shape of the ST.

The 306 is pretty entertaining for a daily runaround but it's on an N-plate so getting on a bit now so just fancy something a bit taughter and more focussed but without sacrificing practicality.

Sorry, is that first pic a bit big??

I was thinking of having the side stripes but I have a strange hankering for red stripes so was thinking of going aftermarket.

Nice looking M3 there!! You import it from Germany then? Must be cheaper to buy there than in UK! As for red stripes why not!!

I've had the M3 for coming up to 4 years now and it was in the country with the previous owner for a year before. They're all LHD anyhow so it doesn't make any odds whether you get a UK one (quite rare) or not.

Cheers for the comments! Seems like a friendly (and active!) forum.

Cheers to Chris for resizing the pics.

The Lambo was a car I was writing an article on at the time as I do some motoring and business journalism so unfortunately it was only loaned to me for a few days.

I prefer the black, also had a yellow one more recently though- not as sleek but certainly striking!

Well, it has its perks! But I do actually do a normal job during the weekdays- the writing is a bit of a sideline I started last year but who knows... maybe one day it'll be full-time!

The girlf and I are going to have a look at some dealers on Monday and see what kind of deal we can thrash out. I see Ashbys has been mentioned in other topics and their site certainly seems to have very reasonable prices- would you say that their price is probably the lowest I can expect?

Edit- not too sure if it was Ashbys... 'something' of Ashby?? It has completely gone out of my mind!
