When I go to the main index page, it sometimes shows yellow light bulbs and red numbers showing new posts. But they're not new, I've already clicked on the thread and read them. Is it something I'm doing?

It could be due to the fact that you've clicked the back button on your browser to return to the main index page, so its returning to the "version" of that page that you've already seen. If you try refreshing that page then the lightbulb should go out.

Not the back button, but the link at the top of the page (there's one on here), so a bit puzzled. It's not the worst problem in the world!

Yes. Other sites like ebay are working fine, but this one is a bit erratic. As I say, it's not fatal.

I get this too

I will have read all the posts, so the main index is all clear.

Shut IE down and later i load it up and the light bulbs are back on so i go to the new posts and ive read them

Only a lil niggle though.

I have somthing similar with msn, if anyones familiar with when you send a msg and the persons offline they will recieve it next time they log in. Well my msn keeps giving me the same damn msg for about a week every time i sign in it gives me the same msg(OKAY IVE READ IT GO AWAY NOW)

Arr I see what you mean now, when you're loging back in afresh. Yes I get that too sometimes - unfortunately it is a long standing problem we've had. Quite a while back we did have a look at a few things to see if we could solve this but just couldn't seem to find the cause of it.

The problem is usually caused by people simply closing the browser (pressing the x) instead of logging out after each session on the boards. If you wish for it to work then don't set you're login to "sign in automatically" and manually do it.

Yup so do I. I always go to my home section and mark all posts as read in there. then im in no doubt when i next come on that all the posts are in fact unread
