Just put a deposit down my my dream ST..perfect in every way except the blue dashboard. Has got full leather so it doesn't match with anything and looks like it's just been tacked on is it possible to get the dash replaced in black does anyone know anything about this, what's involved costs? it's an 06 plate, any advice greatly appreciated many thanks !!!

I would have thought the cost of changing the dash panels would be pricey.

The passenger airbag is behind the coloured panel, so I can imagine it would be a lengthly job to change it.

To be honest I wasn't sure about the blue dash when I got my , but you get used to it and I actually quite like it now

It's actually quite easy to change the dash panel, it's only about 8 bolts. The airbag is bolted to the dash top with 10mm nuts and has one electrical connection.
I can do this job on an S-Type in a couple of hours - ask ST_ONE
You will have to take the centre (radio) panel out though. That's the hardest part because you need a special tool to remove the radio!!!
You could order a new dash panel from Ford or wait around the scrap yards until a grey one becomes available. Or even someone on here might want to do a swap, you never know??
Do not take your blue one off and have it covered with a black material or sprayed black as you will affect how the passenger airbag deploys
