Interesting. Have you test drove the ST? If so, how big is the difference? How do you rate the Zetec-S?

Morning folks,
Quick question. I'm interested to know what everyone upgraded from to the ST. I'm currently trying to weigh up if it would be a good time to change cars or hang on to the end of my current Ford Options agreement next Feb - when I will have a MGFV of my current car of £2580. Should I shop around now and see what I can get part-ex or hang on, sell privately now, or even wait until next Feb. What is the current discount percentage for Privilage vouchers?
Thanks Colin
Hi Colin, I moved (down?) from a MKI Focus 1.8 Collection 3 door.
I wanted the Fiesta ST as soon as I saw it but was un-impressed with the pre-facelift interior and spec. When the facelift came out I had to have one as it was a massive improvement.
I'm not sure if you get the same Privilidge deals in Belfast, you will have to phone your Privilidge dept. and find out. In the UK the discount rates have now changed. Before you used to get a set privilidge price for the car, e.g; the Fiesta ST before 01/01/07 was £10,250 OTR with no optional extras. Now you get a set discount (on the Fiesta ST for example) of £1500, over and above what ever discount a normal retail customer can get. Here's an example: The list retail OTR price of a standard Fiesta ST is £13,995 but Archer's of Ashby (for example) are knocking them out to Retail customers for £10,750. You are then are entitled to a further discount of £1500 making the OTR cost to you of £9,250 (plus any optional extras you may wish to add on)
All in all it seems to be a better deal as in some cases (Kas for example) retail customers were getting a better deal than Privilidge ones. The only downside, I feel, is that you don't get any discount off optional extras anymore.
Sell your car Privately mate, when you're ready, and walk in to do the deal with no part ex and a cash deposit, you'll get a much better deal that way. And shop around for the cheapest RETAIL price. Do not tell them you are Privilidge UNTIL you've secured the CHEAPEST retail price.
Hope this helps

Fuel econmoy really isn't that bad considering. It's not something I'd worry about, it's costing me exactly the same per week as my Focus 1.8 did
