I think it depends on what car you've upgraded from. Our old Yaris T-Sport could pull away at very low revs and I drove it like this most of the time. Changing to the ST, I find it needs a bit more gas. I've got into the habit of giving the pedal a little blip before pulling away - this seems to get around the problem.

My clutch judders very bad when reversing.

mine must be charchteristic no 36671 then if yours does it reversing

Mine did not used to do it but does now.

Guess Ford would call it a 'developing characteristic of the car'....






I'd call it a fault.

Yeh mine does this, I think that it is also to do with the sensitive accelerator as you only have to touch it very slightly to make it rev. Its worse form cold when the choke is on.

Its hard to set of quick without lighting the tyres the best way of not doing this but setting off quick is riding the cluch a little but this wears it quicker so isnt ideal. Even when I set off slow and then floor her the wheels start spinning about 4000rpm.

have the same problem as urs!! slight touch on accelerator and the car rev! same for the wheel spin at 4000RPM and even before!

He he, mine did that this morning. I'd just started up and the idle was fruity. Wanting to avoid the dreaded ST STALL, I gave it a bit-more-than-normal beans as I let the clutch up and shot out of the end of our street like a cruise missile The tyres made a nice 'eek' noise too. The ol' lady at the bus stop wasn't impressed.

don't know why!but everytime anyone doing that they never impressed! think we are some boyracer!!

I know hate it when i accidently do it showing off other day and it happened looked a right idiot but never meant it to happen suppose looked better than stalling it

sometime happen to me as well drive away then wheelspin, esp kick in and u not going anywhere! that look stupid! but u right still better than stall the car!

ive done that too. not intending to look like a nut, suddenly you go from zero to too fast and have to pretend thats what you planned. no win!

Well I've only had my ST since last night and I must say I had quite a surprise when I went in to 1st gear. I'm okay at junctions at the moment, but I'm sure with practice the car will be easier to drive.

Although, this morning on my way home from work I had to do a dreaded hill start in the ST. A very steep hill. Too much throttle, back wheels went nuts, everyone looked, and I felt really silly.

From what I've experienced so far, I'd say slow and steady is the way to go with the clutch pedal. But I'm still trying to find the right point of the 'bite' in the clutch.
