Evening guys,

A few months back some dip-sh*t went into the side of my drivers door. He was an old git and wasn't all there. I got the panel fixed under an insurance job as it was dented and badly scuffed. The insurer's preffered repairer was Nationwide Crash Repair (NCR). They repaired it to a very good standard, however a couple of months later I had the door kicked (minor domestic) lol. This caused a slight dent in the door so got a local dent firm to come out and fix it.

All was well, until I washed the car and I applied a bit of pressure, as you do when you clean the car and the dent went back in again! So got another guy out to undo the dent again.

Washed the car today, and you guessed it, the dent went bak in again.

I cannot continue with this - I need it sorted!

The panel is now pretty "flimsy" i.e. if I use my fingers and push on the panel it warps if you get my drift - it is certainly not as strong as the original door on the other side.

Question: What do you suggest I do 'cos I don't fancy getting a dent guy back out because I know it will just happen again.

Do Ford repair panels or will it have to be a new door, knowing ford. And I know how much a new door will cost with the dealers?

Or should I find a local bodyshop repairer who can just put another new panel on? Any ideas on price?

Although I would prefer Ford to do the work as I trust their workmanship!

A new door will cost you the price of a new door £300??, plus fitting (including disassemby and reassembly) and spraying.Another £300??

A new skin isn't really recommended on a new car, it's better to have a new door
but it's your car £300??

You could get a 2nd hand door from a scrappy£50-100??, disassemble it yourself, take it to a bodyshop and have it sprayed £150 then reassemble and fit it yourself??

You'd be suprised how easy it is to build a door up

Alot of independant body shops have just as good spraying facilities and colour matching as a Ford dealer.

When you cut the door skin off a car it weakens the door frame.
It's not major, but it's not the type of thing I would want doing on a new car.

I would rather get a good 2nd hand door, if I was on a tight budget, than have a new door skin.

yes probably better 2 buy a second hand door if ur on a budget otherwise get a new door and u will have great job done! but if second door is done probably then u will save money!!

Will. Don't use Hendy's.....a right bunch of cowboys!! will never deal with them again after my last Fiesta. Try Daron's on Hayling. Been using them for past 5years and can't fault them!

They do indeed. They've have done work for me before. Ask to speak to John Simmons and tell him that I (Darrin Corbin) recommended them. Can't say that the price will be much better than Hendy's (don't get me started on them C**nts)but the service etc is second to none.

I can only assume that you don't drive very far then!!? Its worth speaking to them though

ok mate. speak to both of them is the best idea. I just hate Hendy's with a passion. I very nearly had to take out legal action against them

Cant answer that for sure. I know I would get a courtesy car for free but then I bought my ST from them.
