Hi there, i'm new to the forums. Just wanted abit of advise if you all have a few mins 2 spare.

Right i've got a 2004 reg Ka (on finance), and I now want to swap it for an ST150 (big jump, i no). will FORD let me swap it? if I carry on with finance?.

And how much are you all paying on insurance for the ST150, im nearly 21, been driving for 2 years and have 1 years no claims, my cheapest so far is about £1800.ARGH

cheersss!!

Hello welcome to the site. I'm not too sure about the finance stuff, but with the insurance:
I'm 19, been driving 2 and a half yrs, 1 yrs ncb, and Institute of Advanced Motorists Qualification , 3 additonal driver, and up to 6000 miles/yr (est) and got a quote from elephant.co.uk of £1282.73.
Dont know if this has helped.

Alex

Yeah if they wont, you can get a good price from broadspeed.com (see very cheap st's for sale thread) as i got a quote from them of 11707 incl. met blue paint, reflex pack and interior styling pack. might be worth showing it to your dealer although they will probably laugh at you.

the cheapest wuote i had was with elephant.co.uk £1001.68 with my dad on their as well plus my 3 points, but they wanted a payment all in full, and i cant do that and for monthly payments they wants an extra £250 on top, so far its between tesco(£1,154.24) and direct line(1,189.34) i am 21 as well, i was with church hill for like 2 and half years but when i change my vehicle details over they wanted an extra £354 on top of £998( which is what i was paying for my focus ebony) insurenace is pants for us young drivers, soon we wont be able to drive if u r under 21

Thing is you will have to work out the sums Sarah... you will lose money on the KA and have to start your finance off from scratch also. If you can afford it then do it as you will love the

Sarah - as for the finance, I'm sure you'd have to look at borrowing enough money to buy the ST and pay off the remaining balance on the Ka, then less the trade-in value of your Ka. I've got a similar scenario with my 206, as I've still got about 15 month's finance owing which will need to be paid off. Don't go with Ford Finance anyway, the APR is rubbish. Look at a personal loan from somewhere like Alliance & Leicester. They're offering 5.9% APR at the mo on either personal loans or their car purchase plan (where you still pay a lump sum at the end). I'm probably gonna go with them for finance on mine, assuming I get accepted!

As for insurance, I'm 26 with 3 yr's NCB and 3 points. My cheapest quote was with MoreThan and come out at a little over £500 for me as the only driver. The car will be garaged though, which helps.
