Scotty, you can turn the aircon off?!

I have auto AC and it does bug me that it auto turns on the AC at first but you can turn this off. I normally run in manual mode with low fan speed and dont suffer from severe screen misting but do have to turn on the screen everyb now and again to get rid of a very fine mist. I think I could just do with cleaning the inside of the screen too!

How effective is the Quick Clear Windscreen?

I've not really had an opportunity to use it yet (not long had my ST).

One of the most annoying things about driving in the rain in any car is that the windscreen always mists up.

have the fan always on speed 1 setting..... never mists up

That means you have your aircon on constantly... using petrol and also lowering performance.

I use the quick clear windscreen and a blast on the windscreen when it mists up.

just because you have the fan on no 1 speed do not mean the air con is on as there is a button to switch the air con on. and off.

I've always been informed that if the air con isnt used at least occaisionally, the seals dry up and the gas leaks out.

Indeed, I don't use it that much but still use it enough that it doesn't pack in for when I need it. You should use it for around half an hour a month to keep it fine.

Bloody auto climate control does turn it on when you move from manual to auto mode....... sneeky buggers aer probably in bed with BP to use more fuel!

Don't like the way that you only know the AC is on by the LCD display.... would rather it had a LED like on the re-circulation button

On a frosty morning it's amazing.
Get in the car and start it up then go round the side windows with your scraper. By they time you get back in, the windscreen is slush. Quick flick of the wipers and you're away.

With mist on the windscreen it clears it in a about 30s seconds.

who mentioned a/c on?

just the flow of fresh air prevents misting.

Yep, leave your window down a tiny little bit should get rid of it and prevent it.
