Ford are the only car manufacturer that offers the Quick Clear Windscreen option.

Apparently they own the patent for it and no other manufacturer can use it.

It must be worth a fortune

Yes you're right.
It is also used on any Ford owned company, Jaguar and Land Rover use it.
I'm not sure about Volvo, I imagine it does.
Aston Martin does and still will because Ford have kept a stake in it.
It's actually illegal in the USA/Canada so no Ford vehicles can use it there.

Ah right, why is it illegal in USA and Canada?

I wish it didnt have it. Might be useful for a few days in the year when we have a heavy frost or snow, but 99% of the time it isnt used and the glare from oncoming sun/headlights is more than annoying

I've got it on my puma. It's actually also brilliant if the screen mists up when you got a lot of people in the car.

How effective is the Quick Clear Windscreen?

I've not really had an opportunity to use it yet (not long had my ST).

One of the most annoying things about driving in the rain in any car is that the windscreen always mists up.

I've always found it to be very good at clearing it quickly. It's also excellent for defrosting ice in the mornings also.

That means you have your aircon on constantly... using petrol and also lowering performance.

I use the quick clear windscreen and a blast on the windscreen when it mists up.
