Personally speaking yes. I would have felt that it compared favourably because of the extra power, plus the awesome look to it, good as the ST looks. It also might have brought in extra sales from people who are going for say the VXR or Clio 197.

However... I've got to be honest and say that the other thing that it would have compared to favourably for me would be against the Focus ST. IMO with the lighter weight, at that power it would almost certainly have been as quick if not quicker than the Focus ST - remembering that even the Fiesta ST isn't all that much slower than the FocusRS. Plus again IMO, great as the Focus ST looks, still no comparison to me as to how the Fiesta RS would have been. And I think that this may well have been one of the reasons for its downfall. Ie. it could have taken sales away from the Focus ST, when it would have been a cheaper car.
