Im 18 and strugling to find insurance for under 3k in my mums name

I'm 19 and mine is with diamond, which wont be much use for you as its only for women, but if you do it in your mums name you can be an additional driver. Mine's only £900, which considering I wrote off my 1st car doesnt seem too bad.... My insurance on my 1.2 clio was £650!!

Ive gone with elephant, have been driving 6 years now, but dont have any No Claims or anything like that, and I got a quote of £680!! couldnt believe it

Just to add that if you try Elephant, and the quote is reasonable, then try Bell and Admiral also. They're all the same group, but they all seem competitive towards each other, so try playing them off and you should get the quote down. I managed to save myself some money this year by moving from Admiral to Elephant - though essentially still the same insurer - by doing this.

I am with Elephant as they were the best quote i recieved although as Chris said they are very similar to bell and admiral in price being the same company. Mine was 640 for the year including my gf and she is a learner driver. I am 23 with 1 years no claims bonus.

You will struggle to find a good quote at such a young age, its not the highest insurance group but considered a bit much by most insurers for someone so young. I used to use CIS under my father when I was much younger, were a bit crap on the customer services side but the cheapest by far, save me over a thousand from doing it on my own.

i use to work at directline the they wont insure till 21 on st and they are linked to tesco,churchill and priviledge so there all 21. im with admiral and it was 1400 with 1 year no claims n im 19. the admiral group are the cheapest ur not gunna get any cheaper than admiral,bell,elephant if ur male. try doing it in ur name with ur mum a named driver it sometimes works out cheaper

im insured with adrian flux as they beat everyone and gave a better policy try them

Got it for £1200 in the end, my mum had to cancel her insurance and use her no claims on the ST insurance then get another policy out on her car with 0 no claims, worked out well

Went with Adrian Flux, that's with 4 yrs NCB, 2 claims and 1 SP30, oh and i'm 34.

Been wondering how badly a claim would affect my insurance premium? Does anyone know roughly what sort of percentage rise I would get if I do get screwed over following an incident. I am 23 with 1 years no claims paying £640 a year, doubt it will come to it greatly but if it did I want to be sure I can still afford the insurance!

Well... last year I paid £553 for my insurance with Admiral - at that time I was 26 with 2 years ncb. This year with no ncb, it went up to £693 with Elephant.
