Sounds childishly arrogant but I saw one a week ago, a grey one and immediately thought 'oh god there's another one, by the time my one arrives they'll be everywhere' I then got closer, realised it was a Zetec S and laughed 'ah, sucker'.

In a way it was good because it reminded me how gutted I would have been had I plumbed for the Zetec S and then seen an ST on the road. It also reminded me of the value of buying the top of the range car.

I'm sure he did. He was probably enjoying lording it over Fiesta Flame's etc and then you came along to steal his thunder. At that moment I'm sure it's worth every single extra penny (in addition to it's better looks and performance)

Saw a black st/zetec s (wasn't sure) going up deptford hill last night. I groaned to myself 'oh no not an ST on my route home, please at least let me get mine first'

Managed to get closer and realised that it was de-badged with the st spoiler. Darkened windows. 'um, why would you de-badge an ST/Zetec S I thought' I managed to get closer, the alloys looked different but I still wasn't sure. As he turned I just caught sight of the spotlights and realised that it was a plain fiesta that he was desperately wanting to be an ST.

Childishly I punched the air delighted that it wasn't a black st, as I'd feared, and also wished that I had been in my proper black ST so that he could have had the genuine article overtaking him. Pathetic I know, but it made me smile.

Saw a black Zetec S with stripes yesterday,thought to myself takes some balls to put stripes on an but a Zetec S.Really young lad driving guess insurance kills the thought of buying the real thing.

I was coming home from the shithole that is Portsmouth today and what did I see thundering up behind me on the M27? I thought it was an ST but then as it got closer I realised it was Magnum Grey so could only be a ZS (yes, I am an anorak). He went past at about a ton (must've been really pushing it! lol) and on the back I noticed he'd debadged the "Zetec" bit so it just had the "S", in the same style as our ST badges. Guess he was trying to fool people into thinking he had the ST...

I sat there feeling a sense of smug self-satisfaction knowing that, no matter how much he tries to make his look like an ST, its still not the real mccoy!

Yeah, it was a young bloke, probably early 20s and he had a baseball cap on. He turned off at the Whiteley junction, probably on his way to the Burberry outlet at Whiteley Village! lol

Ha, ha that is funny. I love wannabe's. If it can't be the genuine article then why bother. When younger I would just go for normalsville rather than trying to fool the world that my car was something else.

No different I guess to someone hugely spoilering a 1.2 nova, yeah like downforce will really come into play with the speed that, that thing will go at!

The other thing that I don't understand is that with the amount of money these kids spend in 'kitting up their pov-spec models to look like GTis or STs or whatever, they could've bought the genuine article in the first place!

kinda true mate but its the insurance they wont the car with out the high price, and they dont declare it to the insurers anyway!!!!!
