does anyone seem to get through far too much petrol with their ST. I can't seem to get a good mpg, i've been driving slower, driving in high gears and still it gets to 29mpg. whats going on? how else can i get it to 38mpg? i can literally watch the fuel gage go down as i drive, its eating fuel like there's no tomorrow. help me please? thanks, Sam

When I first got mine I was around the 27-28mpg mark, now it has run in a bit I get about 32, and if I drive it very carefully can get close to 35mpg. Check out the posts regarding the Ecotek Widget, Steve has fitted one and is getting about 10% improved economy. I have bought on also but haven't fitted it yet, but will do shortly, they are around £45, including the forum discount. Click Here And Here

I get about 27mpg around town, but on a run (and driving smoothly) I can get 38. Aggressive driving and accellerating uphill will empty your tank qucker than a pikey with a rubber hose....

whats better worrying about a few mpg or worrying if u can slow down in time for that corner on contry road???
LOL - worrying about fuel consumption doesn't have to take away from the fun of driving. I have shown that you can get a 10% saving without effecting performance which for me translates into approx £200 per year saving based upon current fuel prices.
Rather £200 in my pocket than someone elses! - 5 weeks worth of fuel!
Also - and I understand that most people don't give a damn but you can do your bit for the enviroment by worrying about fuel consumption so although you'll never catch me walking to work it doesn't hurt to save 10%.
Oh, and if you're worried about if your acr is going to make it around the corner then I'd suggest maybe slowing down..... you might just get there faster and with more fuel in the tank at the end!
