Sorry, i know this is a dumb question, but you've gotta learn somewhere.

Does it lock in two places? If so, where?

Also, where in the new fiestas is the actual internal lock. In my Mk3 the lock is the handle from the inside, is it the same?

yes the lock on the inside is in the handle, you just push it in to lock it.

And not 100% on the double locking. I think it is where the locks lock, and if any key is put in the lock, it will just spin.

if Im wrong im sure ill be corrcted...

Double locking helps prevent the unwantables breaking into your car. When activated (by pressing the key fob lock twice) the car door will not be able to be openned from inside. i.e. if someone breakes your window to get in they wont be able to open the door by leaning in, they have only one option and thats to climb through the window. By the, way double locking can only be activated when the car is not being driven, this is because in the unfortunate event of an accident and you are trapped in the car the window can be broken and door openned to get you out if needed.

With the double locking you can't use the inside doorhandles to unlock the doors,
so smashing the window won't help to open the door. every bit helps.
But offcours it isn't a miracle against thiefs.

Talking of locking the car from the inside whilst driving, does anyone know whether doors will unlock automatically should you have an accident. I know in my dads Rangie (that locks automatically when you set off) it will unlock upon impact. Same with the ST?
