Guys, i briefly mentioned this in the northampton meet, i was wondering if anyone was interested in a generiously sized meet up at alton towers in July.

i have collected quiet a lot of club card points through savage prices on petrol.

so i can get some tickets free with the points. if anyone else has club points worth a try.

I think it would be great if everyone could make it.

im putting feelers out at the moment, wether or not people want to stay in a travel lodge over night the day before so we can get a full day in the theme park is good idea or not.

But yeah suggestion is out there anyone fancy it?

which dates are good for you?

For a mass trip to Alton towers, ideally I would recommend October as it's not as busy. I've been alot of times to Alton towers and hot days are the worst experience there. If it is sunny and you are trapped in the 1hour+ long ques you won't enjoy it.

I'm with Jon on this one, later would be better because july is full of dirty little school children with with vommit everywhere and screaming at the top of their voices, but yeah, the meet sounds like a good idea =]

I would also recommend later on in the year. You spend ages queuing for rides and do not get your money's worth. I do have loads of 2 for 1 vouchers which we can use meaning that tickets would only be £20 each. They last until the end of the year. I went in the last week of May on a week day and it was fairly busy then although we did stay all day.

I have done a bit of hunting on a theme park tour forum they say the best time to go.

Is late september-early october.

Kiddies go back to school at the beggining of september, weather permitting is mildly warm.

Average waiting time for the popular rides are between 8-16 minutes for alton towers.

fast track says 0-6 mins.

Average body count per day mon-fri 4,897

weekend 9,567
