Hey guys,

Aswell as thinking about getting my alloys sorted next month, I want to get the manifold sorted and either a sports-cat or de-cat to connect to my cat-back exhaust. I'm just trying to weigh up the pro's and cons with both the sports-cat and de-cat; sports cat is more expensive (£295 at AMD I found the cheapest) but at least you dont have to keep taking it off for every MOT, or have the engine light come on. But then the de-cat is waaay cheaper (£68 at AMD) and is equally or less restrictive than the sports-cat but you have to take it off for every MOT and if ever pulled over for a random emissions test (i'm not sure if they would ever do this??) but could get in trouble for that to.

So i'm just just wondering what most people have done and which one's people have gone for?

Thanks

Sport CAT buddy. No fuss/hassle removing your de-cat for MOT and cutting and welding nonsense. Sport CAT FTW!

Sports cat is the ideal for the reasons you have already outlined.

I had a de-cat on mine but only because I bought the system second hand and to pay another £300 for a sports cat wasn't possible at the time.

Get the sports cat and save all the hassle - it will have a resale value too if you choose to sell the car in the future, as will the rest of the exhaust system, quite sought after too

i still dont believe that a sports cat can give the same power as a decat cause it still does restrict but a sports cat would be good for MOT's but i love my decat n its only 2 bolts to change the whole system over back to standard so not that hard really

A sports cat won't give the same BHP but on a 200bhp car its only going to be about 2bhp which you really won't notice

Yeah I think I will go with the sports-cat then, seems completely hassle free and keeps me on the right side of the law

Cheers guys!

mine is a full system and the only link in the system is after the manifold so it is just them two bolts to undo to take the whole lot...
