If this really is some kind of lame anti-piracy thing, there is only one real solution: take the car back to the dealer every time a CD gets stuck for that reason...

Last I checked (in South Africa, at least), copies for personal use are 100% legal - and there's no way I'm going to be subjecting my CD collection to the abuse they'll probably get in my car

You could probably try extracting the wave files and then reburn them to CD, as an alternative to copying an entire disc in one go.
