After the snowfalls earlier this year I was fed up scrabbling for grip so I fitted a pair of
Nokian WR2 winter tyres to the front to help with traction. Ideally they should be fitted on the back as well but could only afford a pair at the moment. They made a big difference on my trip to work this morning which saw us having the most snow since mid January. OK, you can't go haring round at 60mph but I followed a Mk2 Focus for part of the way this morning and whereas he was struggling for grip on inclines and bends I had no dramas at all. In fact I had to keep backing off to avoid getting too close to him. A lot of people in the UK still scoff at the thought of buying winter tyres but if it means the difference between getting stuck and being able to carry on to my destination then I'm glad I got them.
