Well guys its been a bit of a messy few weeks but im getting better now.
After going in at 8am i was then given a bed and i had the surgeon, enithetist and other doctors come round and tell me the dangers of this operation. Most thing its straight forward and easy but infact its very risky for an adult as the tonsils are much deeper in the sides of the mouth and bleeding is a problem.
I was told to get ready for the operation at 9am and sent down to theatre and put to sleep at 10:45. I then woke up feeling very dizzy, faint and tired at 11:45 but i was mentally aware still.
After getting back to the ward it then took me 2 hours to recover enough to see properly.
I was constantly being checked for blood pressure/pulse and whatever else they do lol. My throat was also very painful and taking the disolvable painkillers wasn't as easy as u might think. I managed to convince myself to eat mash potatoe/soft potatoe balls and some mince lamb which i managed to eat 1/2.
The next morning (wednesday) came and i was declaired fit and let home with a bunch of tablets.
On the Saturday i woke up and had lots of blood in and around my mouth so my mom looked down my throat and noticed a big blood bag where the tonsil was taken out so rushed me back in.
The doctor immediatley admitted me and the consultant was called. He put me straight on a antibiotic drip (yes that means yet another needle in my hand and blood test) Also told me it was serious and may require another operation which wasn't nice to know. It was caused by an infection.
I was then put on differnt drugs and kept in until Monday this week.
I have been put on 3 different antibiotics and painkillers but today is my last dose of them and my throat is looking atlot better but it hasn't been a smooth ride but hopefully i wont be ill every month now and can get on with my life.
Thx for all ur nice comments before the op and if anyone would like to see a few pics i managed to get just for interest then plz say.
Thx alot all!!!
