The idea is simply to ge the camera out more. I tried this year but found that I lacked the inspiration/time to do a picture every day. Once new year is over I'm planning to start 'Project 52', which is where you take one idea and take several pictures based on that.
If you managed to take a picture a day I bet you they'd improve very quickly so you may as well start one and see how it goes
