I don't really understand what everyones getting so narked about?
The new rule is nothing new. It's simply tracking down people who don't insure their cars but continue to drive them on the road. Which is illegal already.
Ok... so if you don't want to drive your car on the road... you don't insure it. Why would you keep it taxed? You wouldn't, you'd declaire it SORN (like i have with my

). This means you are legal.
The moment you want to drive it on the road you'll need to get temp/full insurance and tax your car. How is this any different to how things are already?
If you drive on the road, you mot, tax and insure.
If you don't drive on the road then you don't need an mot, tax or insurance.
Ok... can someone explain what the issue is?
