185 across the revs is very smooth, a great deal moreso than I was expecting, it picks up in low gears easily without fuss just not as quick as 165.
The only issue is, slowing down in gear, it will grumble far earlier and want a change down or a declutch sooner than standard/165. For your example this would be bit tiresome, you would set off in 1st, into 2nd and if the traffic immediately slowed again and your almost up the bumper then 2nd would be grumbling and wanting a declutch because you have only travelled a few yards. Pretty mutch all cars do this anyway, just need to adapt to the conditions and let gaps open up so you can get the revs up and allow more time to declutch.
Didn't bother me too much when in stop/start queues, just trickled off and freewheeled a little bit out of gear or knock it out of gear just before it grumbles prior to coming to a stop.
As I say, it's like any car that you leave in gear too long as your slowing and it wants to stall unless you change down, a cammed car just does it sooner.
I think you would be okay with it, but definitely not for busy city centres on a regular basis.
