Over the years they seem to have got worse when communicating with people, even those you'd think they would want to talk to: i.e. those people giving them money! If you e-mail, they rarely reply. Unless you've got a new Focus RS.

They also had a reputation for taking shortcuts if they can get away with it.

If you want to hear a tale of woe regarding Pumaspeed, find Warrenpenalver on Passionford. They did a Cosworth engine conversion on a Puma, and by all accounts, Warren's had nothing but problems since he bought the car. He's also had to completely rewire it due to hash they made of it.

My own experience wasn't so bad, but I lost all faith in them. A cambelt change on a Puma is listed as a 4 hour job by Ford, and something only their most senior technicians are qualified for. This is partly because the engine needs to be alternately lifted up, and dropped down within the engine bay to access it all if you're doing it properly. At the time, the mechanic at Pumaspeed took less than an hour to do the same job on my Puma. It just made me more than a little cautious about how many corners they'd cut elsewhere.

Also, the other half has just reminded me that when he went there to have his front brakes upgraded on his old puma, it failed its MOT a couple of weeks later due to the brake lines being twisted!
