Anyone got one/getting one, Forza looks INCREDIBLE on the ONE!!!
I really like the way Microsoft are making the XB the central hub for ur living room, bloody packed with features too but damn its expensive!!!
Microsoft have just got this one wrong in my view. Although the PS4 isn't perfect, there are problems with the XBone which make it not great for non American markets (the HDMI passthrough feature).
Because North America uses 60Hz refresh rate, the HDMI passthrough feature has to do some wierd stuff in order to compensate for the 50Hz refresh rate in the UK meaning every 6th frame is dropped. It makes for a jerky picture. It could be solved in software but would mean the entire output of the console would have to be changed to 50Hz, which would be fine for the TV feature but not for games, which are programmed to stick to 60Hz.
Obviously the first batch dodgy disk drives but nobody knows whats going to happen with the features that had to be removed because of the DRM backlash. Add that to the increased price over the PS4, the requirement to have Kinect connected and on at all times, and the lower specifications...
That said, I'm not buying either of them at the moment! The PS4 won't play media from the network or USB drives at the moment which is a bit of a dealbreaker, and I can't bring myself to pay over the odds for the One when I still have to pay a subscription to play online on top of the increased price.
It's going to be a telling few months!
