Going back a few years earlier, when I picked my car up from the garage, when I got in the car I found they'd gone to the trouble of giving my an official failure notice (which they didn't tell me about) on the MOT for having an air freshener hung round the mirror. They'd "resolved" this problem by chucking it in the passeneger footwell.
